James graduated from the University of Chichester with a 2:1 BSc (Hons) Degree in Sports Therapy in 2011. James has been part of the Up and Running team since 2011. He has gained over 10 years of experience in both a clinical and pitch-side setting since he graduated.

James has worked in professional sport including for Portsmouth Football Club as the academy therapist for the under 9s up to and including the Under 18s as well as providing support on numerous international events, such as a Rugby 7s Tournament in China in 2018.

James coordinates the Up and Running outreach programmes organising and providing cover for a variety of sports teams and clubs throughout Portsmouth. This includes Portsmouth Athletics, Portsmouth North Sea, Portsmouth Gymnastics, Portsmouth Tennis, Portsmouth Grammar School, St Johns College and The University of Portsmouth to name but a few. James also organises where the portable "Up and Running Sports Injury Clinic" attends, which has been used at various RFU tournaments.

James has a keen interest in a variety of sports, regularly taking part in road cycling, football and stand–up paddleboarding, and it is his love of sport that has led him to understand the frustrations that come with injuries. He believes that every individual deserves the right to have the best treatment to return them to full function in the shortest possible time, regardless of age or ability.

James believes his knowledge and experience from working in many different sports at all levels from amateur to professional gives him a strong foundation to prescribe effective and successful treatment and injury prevention for all varieties of injuries; be that sport, occupational or postural injuries.
