Katie: Graduate Sports Therapist
BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy. MSST
Katie is a fully qualified and experienced Sports Therapist and a full member of The Society of Sports Therapists. She graduated from the University of Chichester, with a First Class BSc (Hons) Degree in Sports Therapy.
Katie has worked for three seasons with a men's rugby team undertaking pre and post-match treatment and pitch side emergency aid. She has been affiliated with Up and Running for nearly two years, gaining experience in the clinic and delivering pitch side first aid in some of our local out-reach programs; including working with Portsmouth Grammar School, St. John's College, Hampshire RFU and Portsmouth University. Katie had continued her work with us part-time but is now full-time delivering pitch side first aid and has also taken a more active role in the clinic delivering treatments.
Katie has always loved being involved in sport whether that be as a participant or spectator and has been involved in dancing, netball and other sports most of her life. Because of this Katie understands how an injury can be frustrating for athletes of all ages and levels and she believes everybody should have the right to receive the appropriate treatment. Her main aim is to return people back to their sport as safely and quickly as possible, providing treatment, rehabilitation and advice throughout the recovery process. Katie also strongly advises that those who are highly active should have regular sports massages to aid recovery and for injury prevention purposes.
Katie now works with Up and Running full time.
